Global Views Towards Homosexuality [Interactive]

This site has touched on a lot of eye-opening topics. I’ve written about suicidal jobs, statements from death row, likelihood of death, and even the darkest serial killers facts I could find. However, nothing has bothered me as much as data from this post. Maybe it’s because I grew up in New England and live in NY, but It’s hard to imagine that nearly 40% of the people in the US believe homosexuality is morally unacceptable. I expected to see surprising stats from other countries, but not the US. I’ll end the rant here, but feel free to share, comment below, and discuss as you wish.

Interesting! Did the data set specify what year this was taken? I’d be very interested if there were trend lines for year over year on acceptance.

I think another part to not is that most people lie during survey’s, especially on ‘moral issues’. I bet these numbers are inflated, but not sure by how much.

  2. The survey was fielded from 2013-2014. I haven’t looked for trended acceptance yet, but it’s on my list. I would imagine Western acceptance has risen significantly over the past few decades.
